This is an online service that helps you create long copy sales letters very quickly. Even people already good at copywriting use this because it saves lots of time. Why do I need this? The first reason is that you can do everything I teach about upselling, downselling, finance options, pay per click search engines, etc., perfectly, but if you mess up the advertising copywriting, you will fail miserably. You MUST be able to write the words that move people to action . . . in most cases we want them to pull their wallets out of their pockets and give us money. The second reason is that it saves enormous amounts of time and helps you organize your thoughts quickly. It used to take me a week or more to write a good sales letter and this tool has reduced that time to a few hours at most. What do I do? This is a paperback book found at any major book store. This is one of the books that people in my office know that they will get their arm broken if they move it away from my desk area. Why do I need this? This is a very well thought out reference for phrases and word combinations that you can plug into your sales letters. For instance if I wanted to convey the idea that a product really gets the job done, the book has 60 different ways to say it, like "works like magic", "never lets you down", "comes through in a clutch", etc. It's hard to think these phrases up in a hurry. This book makes it easy. What do I do? Drop in to your local Borders or Barnes and Noble or order it on line. Cost is $14.95 What is this? It's a downloadable book that also causes broken arms if anyone moves my printout away from my desk. It is part of a product called "Copywriting Combo". The headlines are immediately downloadable and a large copywriting course will be mailed to you. Why do I need this? The headline is the most important part of your sales copy. I no longer write headlines. I adapt them from this book. I also get almost all my subheadings from this book. You need a big reference manual of headlines at your disposal which you will use not only for your sales letters, but for articles too. You must put great headlines on your salesletters to get people to read the rest of the details of your offer. What do I do? Click the link above and scroll down about 3/4 of the way down the page until you see the title "Copywriting Combo". Purchase and download the headlines. I suggest you print it out on 3 ring binder paper or print it out and punch holes in it yourself. This will be a constant reference that you'll want to have handy in a binder. Cost: $97.00 What is this? This is a free / (dirt cheap if you elect to pay for it) text based word processor that has special features needed to do your online work properly. Why do I need this? Many people don't know how bad their text emails and autoresponder messages look when they get to the recipient. Sure they look OK when you send them, but you must learn that some formatting elements must be put in to make sure they still look professional when they are received. This program puts those formatting elements in automatically saving you time. What do I do?: Download it for free from the link above. What is this? This is a cheap utility program that saves me hours and hours of time. Why do I need this? There will be times when you want to copy text from emails and word processors and use it in an email or on your website. This cleans up all the hidden junk that you can't see that's embedded in the text you are trying to copy. It also removes >>> marks when someone has forwarded an email to you and you want to use the text. What do I do? Click the link above which will take you to Download.com. When you get there search for "Text Cleanup". (Cleanup is one word, not two.) Cost was $15.00 the last time I checked. What is this? This is a free program that saves you enormous amount of time when you are typing information. Why do I need this? There is only so much time in a day. I want you to automate as much as possible the mundane stuff that needs to be done so there will be more time to concentrate on marketing. For instance: I have to type http://www.GreatInternetMarketing.com quite frequently. Using shortkeys, all I type is "G1" and the entire website above is typed for me. What do I do? Visit the above site. Download and install the program. Start making shortkeys that make sense for you. Cost is free for a limited number of shortkeys. What is this? This is a tool that cut down 95% of my spam emails the first day it was used. I tested 4 different spam stoppers and this is the one I settled on. Why do I need this? The more Internet Marketing you do, the more spam email will come back to you. You do not want to waste hours a day dealing with spam. Also, since all your email goes to Spam Arrest, it is a second line of defense against accidentally clicking on a virus laden email. What do I do? Also, I don't think it will work with AOL. You should be graduating from AOL anyway. Corey Rudl's Email Marketing Course What is this? My original mentor Corey Rudl has come out with a very comprehensive and easy to understand modern course on email marketing. I will be teaching you these concepts over time, but if you want the entire blast right now, this would be a good investment. Why do I need this? You don't absolutely need this because I'll be helping you with the concepts, but it is a great course and I believe in investing in credible information as long as it doesn't confuse you. Warning: Do no buy any of the software in this book without conferring with me first. Much of it is not necessary for our market and we have easier to use substitutes. What should I do? Click on the link above. Purchase and download the course and I suggest printing it out if you can. It will take lots of paper, so be ready. Cost is $137.00 Perry Marshall's Google AdWords Course What is this? Google AdWords is Google's pay per click program. This book is a good training manual to learn how to use AdWords to your advantage. Why do I need this? Google AdWords is going to be one of our main testing tools for testing the viability of potential projects BEFORE you waste lots of time developing them. You need to really get familiar with this program and this course will help you do it. What do I do? Click on the above link and order the cheapest version unless you want to hear lots of audio, then you can get the higher priced versions. What is this? This is a site dedicated to successful Internet entrepreneurs (I've been featured on the site) and is a tremendous idea generator. Why do I need this? You need this to continually see what successful people are doing on the net so that you can adapt the ideas and use them for your own successful operation. What do I do? Simply click on the link above and get a membership. Cost is $17.00 / month What is this? This is an unblockable entry pop up like you see at http://www.antion.com Why do I need this? You don't unless you have someone helping you with your website or if you are pretty good with working on your website. This hover ad doubled my ezine subscription rate and is not blockable by conventional pop up blockers. What do I do? Nothing, unless you are technically savvy working with websites or if you have someone who is. If you do, click above and buy the program. Cost is $97.00 What is this? An audio program that makes it really easy to get audio testimonials, send audio postcards, and to put demo clips of your speaking expertise on your website. Why do I need this? It helps close more sales. We are in a multimedia environment and hearing someone tell how great you are is much more impactful than simply reading a testimonial. You can also showcase your expertise better with this tool What do I do? Click on the link above to go to a site where you will find a sample. Cost $29.95 per month What is this? A program that makes it really easy to make professional looking ebook covers.. Why do I need this? It helps close more sales. Although and ebook doesn't have a "real" cover, a nice looking graphic that looks like a 3D book will convey the idea that you are selling a book. What do I do? Click on the link above to go to a site where you will find the program. Cost $97.00 Direct to desktop marketing software Have your Own Internet Radio Show
Outlook, Eudora, etc. What is this? These are better email programs than AOL. Why would I need them? They will allow you to promote the domain name of your website, easily create and organize folders, filter emails to different folders, work with spam blocking programs like Spam Arrest above, allow you many different addresses, like Tom@antion.com, orders@antion.com, Speaker@antion.com, Sponsor@antion.com etc. What do I do? Bite the bullet and switch over. You can still keep your AOL account because it is handy to have. Cost: You probably already have Outlook Express on your computer and you probably have the more advanced "Outlook" if you have any of the Microsoft Office Suites. Web Page Authoring Program What is this? This is the tool that will free you from total dependence on web desginers. It will allow you to update your websites yourself and create one page sales sites easily. Why do I need this? You need this so you can create a massive web presence on a shoestring budget without the excessive delays and exorbitant costs you would encounter waiting for web people to do updates for you. What do I do? Buy Microsoft Front Page and get a local tutor to teach you how to use it. (See below in Skills section for more detail) Note: Technogeeks will tell you Front Page is not good. Tell them to shut up and go home in their broken down 1987 car. I don't really care what you use, but Front Page is widely supported and you can always find someone to help you if you get stuck. This is more important than fine nuances of technogeekdom that won't mean anything to whether you make money or not. SKILLS Ability to update a web page. Get your tutor to teach you the following skills.
I DON'T suggest you take a course in Front Page because they will teach you all the cool fancy stuff that you are never going to use. A tutor will teach you only what you need to know. As you get more comfortable you will learn a few more tricks to do some advanced stuff like working with simple HTML to add pop up boxes, keywords, and other advanced features. Find a young person at Comp USA or anyone competent at web page construction to teach you. If you can't find anyone local, I can suggest some people who do phone coaching, but it will be more expensive. Ability to properly format a Text Based email You will use Textpad to do this. I will do a brief training teleclass to give you this skill Ability to manage many email addresses You will automate the signup and removal process and you will learn the methods to get maximum subscribers in minimum time. Ability to construct a sales letter You will listen and take notes on the two CD set "Copywriting 901: The Fast Track to Writing Words that Sell". You will make yourself a checklist of elements that go into a sales letter and keep it handy near your writing area. You will use 60 Second Sales letters from Above to quickly help you generate complete sales letters that are web ready. You will buy suggested books above. Ability to test a sales letter You will learn to use your shopping cart system's ad rotator to see which of your salesletters produces the most money. You must learn to use your shopping system Just about any promotion you do will bring in 30-50 percent more money by learning how to use the advanced modules of your shopping system. Watch video training at: You will write appropriate autoresponder messages. You will think of appropriate bundles of products to offer. You will think of appropriate custom thank you pages You will spend a great deal of time learning this and it will pay off handsomely. Do not try to slide by with this. Learning the system will mean many more dollars in your pocket. You must learn and apply exit strategies This means, pop up boxes, sell down/pick your price techniques, finance options on big ticket bundles, thank you page selling, joining affiliate programs to make money when someone leaves your site and goes somewhere else to buy. You must learn the pay per click world You will learn to reduce your bid costs to the bare minimum while getting targeted traffic to your website. You will learn how to "disqualify" your prospects and how to encourage them NOT to click unless they are really serious. You will learn how to test projects very quickly to see if they are worth pursuing. You must understand affiliate marketing You will learn how to make money selling other people's stuff You will learn how to make money getting other people to sell your stuff. You must do both for maximum profits. You must understand product creation. You will learn to make some of your own products, but you will also learn that it makes sense to farm out some of your product creation. Perfectionism will not be allowed! You will make us both go broke if you demand perfection in products. The old saying goes, "My imperfect product that's bringing in money is far better than your half finished strive for perfection product that's sitting on your hard drive." You must understand keyword research and how important it is to your success. You will learn to use the Overture.com search term suggestion tool. You will learn to use other keyword tools You must understand how to use surveys. Your customers will tell you how to sell to them. You have to ask and give them incentives to give you honest answers. You'll then use the info in your sales letters to make it easier to sell to the next like minded customer. You must learn to use dynamic sales letters I am just starting to use sales letters that put in personal information about the prospect. These are very, very powerful. You must learn how to spy on your competition You will let other people do lots of expensive work and research and then you will swoop in and take advantage of what they have learned.
